I feel all of your family brought closer with Doris's passing. While visiting her before her passing I was drawn to the past family events and how much of my life I have not been around the family. Doris always made you feel special. I can only hope that my family will remember me with joy and respect. Doris was a person that could set an example of how to treat friends and family.

What's probably happening is that the guy's script is looking specifically for blog posts across the net with a specific keyword. That keyword is one he's targeting in his PPC ad campaigns, like adsense. Taxes is a keyword that probably shows ads that have a fairly high cost per click, and thus are more lucrative than some other keywords. By stealing posts, these guys don't even have to know anything about the subject matter.

I remembered earlier that this did happen to me before, but the guy was ripping my whole feed, not just posts focused on a specific keyword. So, I just posted about how much siteX.com sucked, etc... for a few posts so it showed up on his blog as well, just to turn the knife a little bit before contacting his host. Not a mature thing to do, but on the blog I was using, it was excusable to have such childish subject matter.

Right now I'm checking log stats, and seeing what looks like rips of another feed from one of my blogs, but when I go to check out the site, the page automatically redirects (but it wouldn't for search engines) to a page that tries to install all kinds of nastiness on my computer. This seems to be happening a lot recently. Unfortuanately, since it all redirects, and I don't want to spend too much time on the pages getting redirected to, I can't find out too much about the site owners.

In this case, I kind of have to let it go, stay focused on productive work, and have faith that the forces of white hat SEO win out over the forces of black hat seo in the great battle that is the SE algorithm. Again, good luck dealing with these jokers.

Here's something truly ironic. ANOTHER **&&**%^$ actually took this post and put it on their site. Seems the keyword "taxes" really gets attention. Obviously he couldn't have read it. Anyway...I'll keep you posted on the progress. At least the original bozo read this post and didn't steal it too. Hopefully he got the message that I'm not planning on sitting idle.

Unfortunately, many people view the internet as the world's largest source of public domain content. However, there are those people who are just plain bad. I believe Obi Wan Kenobi said it best: "Welcome to the internet, you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. (or something along those lines)"

Keep us posted on how his web host handles this unauthorized use of your content. It's a damn shame.

I appreciate your comments. As you pointed out, sometimes giving someone contact -- even negative contact -- is still feeding their need for a connection. I took your comments to heart; I've cautioned my friend about this as well as suggested she go on record with her manager that she was uncomfortable with the situation, even if he "does is all the time". I believe the manager should be held accountable for protecting my friend should the need arise and not just brush off what took place. Thanks again for the valuable input!!
